Friendsgiving Ideas

Friendsgiving is no different from a thanksgiving party or dinner as we all know it. The obvious difference is in the people we spend it with. Whereas Thanksgiving is spent with relatives, sometimes ones that some of us dread or loathe spending time with, Friendsgiving is spent with our second ‘families’, people we have grown to love over time, in our careers, school days, college, or just our neighborhood. These are people, we are comfortable calling brothers and sisters but are not related to us. People we share our ugly past with, our sweet memories with, and even our ugly sweaters and dirty linens literally. So basically Friendsgiving combines the very best of what you get in thanksgiving, but with a more relaxed group of attendees with relaxed rules away from the prying eyes of nosy cousins, aunties, and other relatives, not forgetting the overbearing scrutiny of a dad to his daughter’s girlfriend. Strategic Raila Odinga Takes Votes from William Ruto’s Ballot Box.

It is another campaign season, and Kenyans are doing their best to pocket as much as possible from William Ruto and his brigade, who are ready to do whatever it takes to win the 2022 election.

Going by the recent UDA party nominations, any politician can willingly empty his account, come and prepare food, do laundry and even sing lullabies to your kids if you promise to give him your vote.

But wait a minute, this can only occur at the MCA, MP,  Senatorial, and the Gubernatorial seats. The PRESIDENTIAL ticket cannot be determined by how low the candidate is willing to stoop, and this is a trick RAILA seems to have mastered. Let me delve into the practical steps BABA takes to remove votes from Ruto’s basket.

·         Meeting opinion leaders; This strategy works better than holding mammoth rallies. The consultative meetings baba is holding, give people a clear picture of his agenda. The trickle-down effect is that the message will penetrate villages, unlike rallies where people just go after being paid for appearances. This does not give an accurate picture of the popularity of candidates.

·        Practical economic and social revival policy; Raila is seeking to use the available taxes to improve the lives of citizens. Where can Kenya Kwanza get the money to finance its Bottom-up economic model? This is a white lie that opinion leaders are dismantling after every rally they hold wherever they go.

·       Take or leave it; Raila does not dish money to people for them to attend rallies. After Baba addresses enormous crowds, there is no fighting after they have listened to his address. Just check the chaos that rocks Kenya Kwanza rallies when people start demanding their attendance allowances; most people change their minds immediately after the organizers disappear with all the money.

·        President Uhuru Kenyatta has taken a back seat on the campaign trail, as exhibited in this week’s campaign meetings in Mount Kenya. This has left Ruto’s camp with no campaign agenda because theirs was that Raila Odinga is a project of Uhuru.

·        Winning an election requires voter turnout on the voting day; Raila Odinga has ensured that he meets electorates and not hired goons. Most people filling stadiums during William Ruto’s campaigns neither have identity cards nor voters’ cards, making electing him an impossibility; keep your eyes on the so-called supporters during these rallies.

If you have been keen to observe the meetings Baba has convened all over the Mount Kenya region, you will realize his rising popularity, especially in the Mount Kenya region. A campaign strategy that is not convertible to votes during the election day is what William Ruto is using to create a fallacy to Kenyans that he has won the hearts of the majority. Later Ruto will use this to show Kenyans that the election has been rigged in favor of Raila Odinga. Luckily any Kenyan who has her eyes open has already understood this in advance; hence this plan is meant to backfire on its own architects.
